One of my favorite places to write is at my mother’s vacation home in the Rancho Mirage desert. I wrote much of Bobby Ether and the Jade Academy here, as well as big portions of Temple of Eternity.
Yesterday, i spoke with the Pulpwood Queen, Kathy L. Murphy, who wanted to see the house that inspired a blog post I wrote years ago entitled The Pool, about the creative process and what it takes for me to visualize my stories.
Join us as I we talk books, writing, and the creative process, all while taking a tour of the home and all its fun features (and intense temperature!). After you take the virtual tour, make sure to post a comment and let me know what you think of my writers retreat!
Scott Boyer grew up in Santa Monica, CA and still resides in the Los Angeles area. Graduating from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley in 1996, he started writing Bobby Ether And The Academy with the goal of blending YA fantasy with spiritual fiction. Nowadays, Scott splits his time between helping his father manage an insurance brokerage, playing with his Shepherd-mix rescue dog Patch, and writing other adventures in the Bobby Ether series.
